Challenge
Paul and Veronica owned a beautiful old Queenslander located in Hendra for 13 years, which they now wished to sell. The property, while charming, had accumulated wear and tear over the years, and its outdated appearance was a barrier to achieving their desired sale price. They needed a comprehensive repaint and renovation to enhance the property’s appeal and meet market expectations.
Solution
Recognising the potential for transformation, Fidato was brought in to revitalise the Queenslander. Our solution involved a full-scale repaint of all internal spaces, including bedrooms, bathrooms, shared rooms, and kitchen cabinetry. We addressed the unique challenges of older-style homes, including the internal VJ timber walls and worn windows.
The Issue
The Queenslander required significant preparation due to the condition of its surfaces. The internal timber walls had numerous joins and gaps that needed careful filling and smoothing before painting. Layers of old paint had built up over the years, which meant thorough sanding to ensure a smooth finish. The windows were also in need of refurbishment to enhance their aesthetic and functionality.
Our Approach
To tackle these challenges, we deployed a qualified painting crew who worked diligently over a two-week period. With two professional painters on-site, we managed multiple tradesmen simultaneously to expedite the process. Preparation work included extensive sanding and repair, ensuring a solid foundation for the new paint. Our resident carpenter to assist with additional improvements: installing new blinds, replacing door handles, and repairing fencing. Our commitment to professionalism and attention to detail not only met the deadlines but also exceeded expectations, resulting in a stunning transformation of the property. After two and a half weeks, the outdated Queenslander was transformed into a bright, modern, and airy space, significantly enhancing its market appeal for a successful sale. This case study exemplifies how strategic planning and skilled execution can revitalize a property and deliver exceptional results.

Matt, Ellen and the FIDATO team did an amazing job of painting the interior of our two level, 4 bedroom, QLD’er style home. I was really impressed with the quality of their work, their reliability and on time attendance every day. The project took approximately two weeks and they finished on schedule. The FIDATO team were professional, and respectful, plus took immense care with covering up the floors and various areas to ensure cleanliness and accuracy. At the end of the project their clean up process was fabulous. In addition to painting the interior, we engaged FIDATO to complete various maintenance jobs around the house, which we felt was money well spent, as they did the jobs we didnt have the skills, tools, time or patience to complete. All the jobs/tasks completed were done so efficiently, with precision, and included tasks such as (but not limited to): high pressure cleaning the footpaths, hanging up new mirrors, fitting window blinds, replacing broken fencing panels and changing door handles.
